Health Care and Medicaid Expansion
I believe health care is a right and everyone should have affordable and accessible health care. Kansas must expand Medicaid in order for people working in low-wage jobs - including many essential workers that our economy depends on - to have access to affordable health insurance.

Child Care
I know first hand the struggle families face to find child care. Ensuring all families who need child care have affordable and high quality options in their communities is incredibly important. Access to high-quality affordable child care is beneficial for children, parents, and our economy.

Taxes
Our tax structure must ensure people pay their fair share and that the Kansas budget isn’t balanced on the back of low and middle income Kansans. Our state must never return to the budget struggles caused by the reckless Brownback tax cuts.

Education
Strong public schools are a bedrock of Kansas communities. We must fully fund education, resist efforts to divert public education dollars to private schools, and make higher education accessible to anyone who wishes to pursue a degree.

Abortion Rights/Reproductive Justice
Kansans spoke loud and clear in August 2022 to preserve reproductive freedom and abortion rights. As a member of the Kansas House of Representatives I will fight against efforts to chip away at the rights Kansans so clearly support.

Common Sense Gun Laws
Gun violence is the number one killer of children and teens in Kansas. We can fix that with the right policies. Common sense gun laws, such as a secure storage law, requiring background checks on all gun sales, and red flag laws are actions we can take to keep kids and our communities safe.

Affordable Housing
Housing is a basic human right and there’s much more Kansas can be doing to address the growing housing crises. Policies such as a renter’s tax credit, reducing property taxes, and rent stabilization can help address our affordable housing crisis.

Equal Rights
All Kansans, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, deserve equal rights. Attempts to discriminate are rooted in hate and must be defeated.

Racial Equity
Public policy created much of the systemic racism that has contributed to racial disparities and inequities. Public policy also has a role in eliminating disparities and inequities.
